The Origin Story

Why Chiropractic.
Why This Practice.
Why Now.

When I was playing college and professional basketball, staying on the court meant doing whatever it took. For years that looked like this:

Steroid injections. Epidurals in my lower back. Celebrex nearly every day. Voltaren and B12 shots before games overseas. Ibuprofen and Motrin — 800 to 1600mg at a time — taken as casually as most people take a daily vitamin.

I wasn’t managing pain. I was burying it. And I knew I was borrowing time.

Chiropractic was the door that changed everything. Not because it solved the problem on its own — but because it introduced me to a different way of thinking about the body. One that asked what was actually causing the problem rather than what could suppress it long enough to get through the next game.

That door led me to SoftWave Therapy, IASTM, dry needling, NMES — a whole world of non-invasive tools that actually reduce pain, heal tissue, and restore function. Without a prescription pad or a needle full of cortisone. I didn’t have access to any of this when I needed it most. That’s exactly why this practice exists.

“I didn’t become a chiropractor to treat pain. I got into it because it gave me an edge — and I wanted to share that with everyone who refuses to accept less from their body.”

— Dr. Nate Funk, DC · Founder, Longevity Sports Chiropractic

The Philosophy

Longevity Isn't a Buzzword. It's the Whole Point.

Golf introduced me to what longevity actually means — one of the few sports you can play for a lifetime, but only if your body keeps up.

The people I’ve watched stay in the game longest aren’t the ones who rested when something hurt. They’re the ones who found the root cause and fixed it.

That’s the philosophy behind this practice. Keep you on the course, in the gym, and present for the people you love — for as long as possible. Not by managing your pain. By actually addressing it.
